Environmental Monitoring
Current regulations applied to development within B.C. often require practices to occur in a manner that is sensitive to environmental values. As a result, many construction projects that occur within and adjacent to fish habitat (both marine and freshwater) require supervision by an Environmental Monitor.
This monitor is independent from the development project and is on-hand to provide environmental mitigation plans and ensure that activities occur with minimal impact. Biological staff from Pacificus Biological Services Ltd. have assumed Environmental Monitor roles on several projects including emergency bridge replacements, culvert replacements, road deactivations, and foreshore excavation and construction.
